A Closer Look: Issues of Violence, Incarceration & Reentry in Richmond, CA – A Criminal Justice/Reentry Brief

We’ve been working on criminal justice reform for quite awhile, now, and we believe that all good systems change starts with data-driven analysis. But criminal justice systems are complex, technical, and messy, in which many agencies have a piece of the puzzle, but nobody has a good grasp of the whole.

For years, the city of Richmond, CA struggled with high rates of violence, trauma, poverty, and fear. To advance collective understanding and advance opportunities for reform, we researched and wrote this monograph, which studies the arrest, incarceration, and release patterns in the city and region.
